NanoScale has been successfully involved with projects and developments using nanomaterials for decontamination of Chemical Warfare Agents (CWAs) and Biological Warfare Agents (BWAs). The metal oxides' unique physical and chemical properties are widely used for destructive adsorption of toxins. Specifically NanoScale’s materials have been proved to be highly efficient neutralizing agents for a wide range of hazardous materials.

Contracts with Army, NIH, DTRA, ARO, DARPA, NATICK, NIOSH, Air Force, USDA, Marine Corp, SOCOM, CTTSO/TSWG include work on protective garments, decontamination coatings, sprayable powders, decontamination wipes, and decontamination suspensions in extreme weather conditions.
